Mr. Capalot, also known as Polo Capalot as he is sometimes called from Chicago Illinois started to gain popularity after releasing songs on YouTube. He initially released tracks such as the Come Up and Never Cared and then made his first appearance on SoundCloud through the mixtape of his official POLO.G SoundCloud. Gang With Me marked his first single that became a hit, later followed by another smash The Finer Things. The latter was written by him while in jail. This song was his first hit and it racked up millions of YouTube views, which brought his name to the front. In the following days, major record companies began showing an interest in his work. Pop Out feat. Lil Tjay was released by the rapper after he signed the deal to license his music with Columbia Records. The track received millions of views on YouTube and reached number 22 in the Billboard Hot 100 marking the first chart-topping song by the artist.
